Overview: Xplicit Technologies, LLC is seeking highly skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide professional ASL services in support of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center’s Geospatial Analysis Squadron (NASIC/GSIO). The ASL Interpreter will provide support for a government staff member during scheduled group meetings, training events, and occasional conferences, ensuring effective communication and compliance with federal disability accommodation laws.
Responsibilities:
- Provide ASL interpretation services to a NASIC staff member for various scheduled meetings, training sessions, and events.
- Respond to service requests within 24 hours of notification from the NASIC Operations Point of Contact (POC).
- Interpret effectively in dynamic and classified environments while adhering to professional confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate with NASIC Security to obtain necessary credentials for facility access.
- Support assignments that may require additional interpreter resources for extended, physically intensive, or multi-attendee events.
- Provide ASL interpretation services during occasional travel, with at least 7 days’ advance notice.
- Submit a monthly report detailing service hours, events attended, and remaining contract hours.
- Adhere to OPSEC protocols and comply with DoD directives regarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance (Must be held prior to contract award).
- Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI).
- Minimum of 5 years of paid professional ASL interpretation experience in a full-time professional capacity.
- Strong knowledge of federal disability accommodation laws, including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Ability to obtain and maintain NASIC and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base access credentials within 5 calendar days of contract award.
- Adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct (CPC).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to operate in a secure government environment and comply with security regulations.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) regulations and DoD security policies.
- Completion of government-provided OPSEC and CUI training prior to service commencement and annually thereafter.
- Ability to immediately report potential security threats or unauthorized disclosures to NASIC Security.
- Must comply with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for travel assignments.
Work Schedule & Commitment:
- Expected support is approximately 6 hours per week (estimated 300 hours per period of performance).
- Work hours will be intermittent and may vary based on meeting schedules.
- Support may be required on short notice (within 24 hours of request).
