Overview:
Xplicit Technologies, LLC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Technician to provide professional custodial services at a federally operated wildlife refuge in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This role supports the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s commitment to clean, safe, and environmentally responsible facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in administrative offices, restrooms, common areas, and laboratories, in accordance with federal performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, kitchens, and breakroom areas, including sinks, toilets, urinals, countertops, mirrors, and floors
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop hard floors and carpeted areas; deep clean tile and shampoo carpets as scheduled
- Empty and sanitize trash and recycling receptacles; replace liners
- Dust and wipe down horizontal surfaces, blinds, and vents
- Clean glass surfaces, including interior and exterior entry doors and office windows
- Perform light maintenance such as replacing air fresheners, restocking restroom supplies, and checking for facility maintenance issues
- Remove weeds and debris around building perimeter and outdoor trash pickup stations
- Use bio-based cleaning products in accordance with dilution instructions and sustainability protocols
- Ensure safety and security procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and organized manner
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional janitorial experience (federal, commercial, or institutional environments preferred)
- Strong understanding of custodial best practices, including use of bio-based and environmentally preferred products
- Ability to pass a federal background check (required for facility access)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to/from site
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow a written cleaning schedule and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience cleaning laboratories or environmentally sensitive facilities
- Familiarity with MSDS sheets and safe chemical handling procedures
- OSHA 10 Certification or equivalent safety training (a plus)
