Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented janitor to perform weekly cleaning services at two key locations within the refuge:
- Visitor Center Public Bathrooms (Men’s and Women’s)
- Bluff Lake Parking Area Vault Bathroom
Duties and ResponsibilitiesVisitor Center Bathrooms (Weekly)
- Clean and disinfect all toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors.
- Sweep and mop floors with disinfectant.
- Clean chrome/stainless steel fixtures, removing grime and smudges.
- Wipe walls as needed using appropriate surface-specific cleaners.
- Empty and replace sanitary disposal bin liners (women’s bathroom).
- Refill soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
- Empty wastebaskets and remove trash.
- Clean up any soap residue from leaks and report dispenser issues to staff.
Bluff Lake Vault Restroom (Weekly)
- Sweep floor and hose down interior (hose is provided on site).
- Clean and disinfect the single toilet and entire restroom area.
- Refill toilet paper and paper towel dispensers.
- Empty trash and remove all waste.
Supplies and Support
- All cleaning supplies and paper products are provided by the Refuge.
- Contractor must notify the Refuge staff at least one week in advance when additional supplies are needed.
Additional Details
- If a scheduled cleaning falls on a federal holiday, the cleaning must be performed on the next available business day.
- This is a contractor position; not a federal employment opportunity.
