Position Overview:
As an Accounting Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the accounting department by managing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare payment batches and assist with timely processing of payments.
- Maintain accurate records of AP transactions and manage the AP ledger.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
- Apply customer payments and manage AR aging reports.
- Assist in collections efforts as needed, working with customers to ensure timely payment.
- Other Duties:
- Provide support to the accounting team in various administrative tasks.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting matters.
- Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support external auditors during audit periods.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 1 years of accounting experience, with a focus on AP/AR and general accounting functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
