We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to play a key role within the department/team in driving new analysis of wagering in the horse racing industry.  This role designs and develops metrics, reports and analyses driving key business decisions. You will support internal and external customers by extracting, analyzing and transforming data into actionable business intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Combines, filters and reconciles data from multiple sources into data tables for reporting; Supports building of basic ETLs and stored procedures if necessary.
• Builds automated reports/dashboards to share results with stakeholders on a periodic basis (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
• Supports, builds, and runs complex SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting and business intelligence.
• Assists in database administration of SQL Server databases.
• Assists in building and maintaining models, analyses and reports for external customers.
• Engages with external customers in support of their reporting and analysis needs.
• Perform other dutes as assigned.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Accounting, Mathematics, Information Management or Business Administration.
  • 1 years’ experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency and experience with SQL and SSMS.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Great communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts/ideas in front of both technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently to dive deep and solve tough problems.
  • Propensity to seek out, accept and integrate feedback professionally.
  • Self-motivated, quick/continuous learner with a passion for innovation.
  • Experience using data visualization tools for reporting a plus (for example: PowerBi, Tableau, & Periscope)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using tools for analyzing and reporting a plus (for example: SSRS, R, SPSS/SAS).

   

  OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base salary and benefits.
  • This role does not have supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

   

  BASE WORK LOCATION:

  • Position is based at the Hunt Valley, MD location; “Hybrid” work environment is a consideration available. The position is required to support the Eastern Time zones in the morning. 

  Note: Due to pandemic and based on business direction, positions are remote work full time until otherwise notified.
