Security Guard

XPressGuards has immediate job openings for Unarmed Security Guards in the North Miami, FL area for a firewatch post at a nursing home.

Available shifts are morning, afternoons and overnights from Monday - Sunday. Assigned schedule will be 8 hours per day x 5 days a week.

Who You Are:

As an unarmed security guard professional for XPressGuards, you will be responsible for using a combination of fire watch to protect a nursing home from fire damage and customer service skills. You will take ownership of vital work that protects the client property, staff and visitors.

• Must have the ability to adjust focus; self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision
• Must have the ability to deliver exceptional customer service
• Must be able to clearly communicate in English (speak, read, and write)

What You'll Do:

• Guard and maintain the safety and security of the client's property and personnel
• Stay vigilant and ready at all times, ensuring the safety of the client property, while also being attentive to any fire signs that may lead to losses.
• Follow safety and security procedures, policies, and regulations
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner
• Patrol an assigned area on foot or in a vehicle to observe for signs of danger or criminal activity and signs of fire
• Report suspicious activity or occurrences to supervisors or law enforcement officials
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Issue verbal warnings when necessary for security violations or criminal activity
• Working environments and conditions may vary by client site

Requirements:

• Must possess an active Florida "D" Security License
• Must have reliable transportation
• Pass an extensive background check (criminal record, driving record, drug testing, etc.)
• Minimum High School Diploma / GED Equivalent
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to observe, walk, stand, sit, or drive for extended periods in various weather conditions; run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment; help restrain or lift a person; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
