Summary

The Marketing Insurance Representative (internally Business Development Manager) is responsible for the representation and promotion of XS Brokers capabilities. Primary responsibilities include identifying and developing relationships with key retail agents, aggregators, and alliances that support our production goals via in person meetings, events and virtual interactions. This role supports the Midwest region including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. The ideal candidate would be located in Michigan or Illinois.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan and strategies to facilitate business growth and uncover additional opportunities.
  • Collaborate with peers, underwriters, brokers and leadership to achieve sales goals and corporate objectives.
  • Create / update marketing materials and develop creative and interesting marketing promotions / campaigns.
  • Secure appointments with existing & prospective retail agencies (office visits, virtual meetings, qualified marketing calls) to discuss benefits of working with XS Brokers, leveraging a consultative sales approach.
  • Document all marketing activity in the company’s CRM system including meetings, important phone calls and emails, scheduled follow-up activity and overall account strategy. Maintain a through knowledge of products and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of experience marketing to local retail agents.
  • Competencies & Skills : Best in class customer service, adaptability, negotiation, detail orientation, results orientation, proactive problem-solving, professionalism and strong social and networking abilities.
  • Candidate should be energetic, self-motivated, independent and a team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as outlook and TEAMS. Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint applications preferred.
  • Position requires 80% travel to / from retail agents, events and industry engagements.
  • Candidates must have existing contacts in the insurance industry.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with E&S (Excess & Surplus Lines) or P&C (Property & Casualty).
