Location : San Diego, CA (Hybrid Onsite / Remote)
Security Clearance : Active Secret Clearance required (Top Secret / SCI preferred)

We need a Digital & Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) who is a master of MBSE, an architect of digital engineering, and driven by an obsession with AI / ML.

The exact projects will be dictated by the client, with your input on how AI / ML can enhance MBSE and digital engineering workflows.
- AI-Assisted Requirements Engineering – Using Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract, analyze, and validate system requirements from DoD documentation.
- Predictive System Behavior Modeling – Applying machine learning-driven simulations to predict system performance under different conditions.
- AI-Powered Model Validation & Verification (V&V) – Developing AI / ML-powered tools to automate model checking, identify errors in SysML models, and streamline verification processes.
- AI-Augmented Digital Twins & Predictive Maintenance – Using AI-powered Digital Twins for real-time system monitoring and predictive maintenance.
- Generative AI & Large Language Models (LLMs) for MBSE – Exploring how LLMs can assist engineers in generating SysML model components, automating documentation, and providing engineering insights.
What You'll Be Doing
Developing and maintaining MBSE-driven architectures and digital engineering solutions for complex DoD / Navy systems.Using Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect to create SysML models.Applying DoD Digital Engineering Strategy principles to ensure digital twins, digital threads, and authoritative sources of truth (ASOT) are useful.Supporting DoD acquisition and sustainment programs by integrating AI / ML-powered enhancements into digital engineering models and automation.Building and testing AI-based tools for MBSE environments.Collaborating with Agile teams and DevSecOps environments to improve engineering processes.Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).7 years of experience supporting DoD programs (Navy, NAVWAR, or NIWC Pacific experience is a plus).Strong expertise in MBSE tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.Understanding of systems engineering, digital engineering, and DoD acquisition lifecycles.Hands-on experience developing AI / ML applications for engineering workflows, automation, or decision support.Active Secret Clearance (or higher).Nice-to-Haves
Master’s degree in a relevant field.Certifications like INCOSE CSEP, OMG SysML, DoD DAWIA Systems Engineering, or AI / ML certifications.Experience integrating AI / ML into MBSE workflows or DevSecOps pipelines.Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn for AI / ML applications.Knowledge of reinforcement learning and its potential applications in defense systems.Who You Are
