Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Health Aide to provide essential care to our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.
As a Home Health Aide, you will work with elderly, disabled, or ill clients to help them remain comfortable and safe in their own homes. Your role is vital in ensuring their well-being, offering support for daily activities, and enhancing their quality of life.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Assist with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
- Administer CPR and first aid when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding client status and needs.
- Support clients in managing medications as prescribed.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in long-term care or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, including taking vital signs and CPR certification, is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to care plans set by healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or equivalent (depending on state requirements).
- Previous experience in home care, personal care, or healthcare is preferred.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
