Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary, ensuring the health and safety of individuals in your care.
- Provide hospice care when needed, offering comfort and support to clients and their families during challenging times.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and community involvement.
- Support individuals with heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used for safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health care, long-term care, or working in a group home setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with people with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of basic nursing skills is a plus; certification or training in relevant areas such as CPR or first aid is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential for success in this role.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations is mandatory.
