POSITION SUMMARY :
The translator will translate communication between the healthcare professional and the patient during an in-person home visit, ensuring clear understanding of medical information and patient history by facilitating language interpretation between the healthcare professional and non-English speaking patient, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
RESPONSIBLITIES :
- Accurately translate medical terminology, questions, and responses between healthcare professionals and the patient during in-home visit, conveying context appropriately.
- Work effectively with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient communication.
- Carefully listens to or reads content including jargon and acronyms in the original language.
- Understands and analyzes what is being said or written, and effectively and accurately translates the message, intent, and nuances being communicated.
- Provides simultaneous interpretation (SI) depending on the desired outcome.
- Protects the confidentiality of information and adheres to any related ethical or professional codes.
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations by protecting patient information and maintaining privacy throughout the translation process.
- Maintain a respectful and empathetic approach when interacting with patients and healthcare providers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
