What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Electrical Apprentice position at Xtreme Installations?
Xtreme Installations is a locally owned audio/video integration company out of Sanford, FL. We specialize in designing and installing custom low voltage solutions, home theater systems, smart home automation, lighting systems, video surveillance, alarm systems and access control systems in residential and commercial environments.
Xtreme Installations has also expanded into the high voltage electrical field and we are currently looking for a hardworking and dependable electrical helper to assist our team with custom home builds. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in residential new construction electrical and is reliable and motivated to help build our brand and be an integral part of our well-established and growing company.
Responsibilities and Duties
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting electricians on residential new construction projects
- Installing boxes, wire, devices, lighting, breakers, and equipment in accordance with local and National Electric Code
- Learning about, and assisting with, the low voltage integration portion of Xtreme Installations
- Assisting technicians in the field on A/V service calls and large scale projects when necessary
- Installing electronic equipment, devices and accessories - includes TVs, speakers, amplifiers, processors, projectors, racks, conduit and raceways, control systems, networking hardware, communications equipment, security systems, motorized shades and lighting control systems
- Running and testing wire in new and existing structures - including speaker, communications, control, audio and video cabling
- Interpreting specifications, blueprints, and system drawings
- Communicating effectively with the Xtreme Installations team on daily status updates and with the electrician on site
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 or more years of electrical field experience (preferably in residential new construction)
- Exceptional time management
- Strong organizational skills
- Highly motivated and a self-starter
- Flexible and has a positive attitude
- Hard worker who is willing to learn
- Extremely attentive and can follow detailed instructions
- Fast learner
Qualified Candidates Must:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record to drive company vehicle
- Have full time availability, including occasional weekend and/or overnight shift to meet client's needs
- Have the ability to pass pre-employment background test
- Be capable of performing physical labor, such as digging trenches and carrying and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Have the ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceiling

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
