Summary/Objective
The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the customer pipeline and supporting Regional Managers prospecting for existing and new clients.
Essential Functions
- Generate New Business opportunities – Identify and qualify new business opportunities with Existing and Net New Clients (e.g. get XKIG on new bid lists)
- Create and execute Regional Sales Prospecting, Territory, and Key Account plans
- Lead Bi-Weekly Regional Sales Meetings (review pipeline, prospecting activities, and marketing events, etc)
- Facilitate and maintain successful relationships with customers
o Participate with Monthly and Quarterly meetings with key clients
§ Prepare quarterly Customer Scorecards
o Assist Regional Managers with annual contract renewals
o Follow up with existing contacts (customers and non-customers) to ensure XKIG is still on bid lists
- General Business Development activities
o Represent XKIG at trade shows and conferences
o Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Management Reports
o Track prospecting activities and opportunities in CRM
o Monitor Bid Boards for potential bidding opportunities.
o Work with Contracts Department to ensure rate increases and renewal bids are submitted as required.
o Other projects and functions as assigned by the Director, Business Development
Competencies
- Sales, marketing and business development acumen.
- Superior analytic, communication, and writing skills.
- Able to communicate easily and clearly with potential customers, field managers, supervisors, and senior executives.
Education and Experience
- Five or more years of business development or marketing experience.
- Fluent use of Microsoft Office products and a variety of CRM tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
