The Role
Xylem seeks a Cost Analyst for Colorado Springs manufacturing facility. The individual in this position will be responsible for analyzing cost information related to labor, inventory, and operational expenses, while collaborating with multiple departments to provide effective cost tools.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and collect cost data associated with labor, production variances, inventory, efficiency, Travel/Entertainment Exp, indirect materials, and other organizational expenses
- Assist in preparing budget and forecasting reports
- Support the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries
- Assist with annual and ad-hoc standard cost rolls
- Maintain and manage fixed assets and submit capital expenditure requests
- Reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Provide documentation for audit compliance and requests
- Ensure SOX compliance controls are being met
- Collaborate with various departments to educate and deliver cost tracking tools
- Assist in driving process improvements
- Help measure key metrics as established by the business segment
- Assist with other activities as requested
- Bachelor’s degree required and/or work experience
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Extensive working knowledge of ERP systems required
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software in a highly complex environment; Intermediate to expert level Excel skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving, quality assurance, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic team environment
- Self-motivated
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy and quality in work
