About the Role
The Vice President of Medical Affairs will lead the medical strategy and activities for the Oncology Business Unit, driving evidence generation, scientific communication, and medical education to support the therapy’s clinical and commercial success. This position will partner with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure scientific integrity, provide expert guidance, and strengthen relationships within the oncology medical community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the medical affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and the broader business unit strategy.
- Provide medical leadership and strategic direction to cross-functional teams, including clinical development, commercial, regulatory, and market access teams.
- Oversee scientific and clinical data generation, including phase IV studies, registries, and real-world evidence to support the therapeutic profile.
- Lead a team of medical liaisons and support them with interactions with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and scientific organizations in the oncology space.
- Lead the development of scientific publications, congress presentations, and other communications to support market positioning by working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to medical and ethical standards in all medical communications and activities.
- Provide medical insights to guide clinical development and commercial strategies.
Qualifications:
- MD, PhD, or PharmD required.
- 8-10 years in medical affairs or clinical development, with significant experience in oncology.
- Proven leadership experience in developing and executing medical strategies and managing high-performing medical teams.
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines, clinical trial design, and evidence-based medicine.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
