The Y-Yard Auto & Truck, Inc, a leader in the automotive parts industry for over 55 years, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial accounting principles. Responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial statements, and overseeing internal controls.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing all financial duties, including accounts payables, receivables and payroll.
- Balance daily sales transactions
- Create a fiscal budget while monitoring and meeting with dept managers to review budget vs actual.
- Prepare financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Work closely with external auditors
- Complete general ledgers and journal entries into QuickBooks
- Manage and reconcile multiple bank accounts
- Oversee and manage HR duties and employee benefit plans.
- Assist with researching insurance policies and cost efficient premiums
- Perform internal audits and account reconciliations.
- Calculate and process all tax obligations
- Manage a team of accounting professionals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5 years of experience in a financial controller role
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP, and SEC regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks
- Advanced computer skills in excel, Microsoft Office Suite and Google
