What You'll Do
The Data Warehouse Administrator will help oversee our current Oracle-based data warehouse while helping to plan and realize a migration to our new data warehouse solution designed to store our historical business data for years to come. This role involves optimizing data integration processes, ensuring data quality and security, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. The successful candidate will be a key driver in implementing best practices and maintaining high performance within our data warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the current Oracle-based data warehouse environment, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and availability
- Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a purpose-built data warehouse solution to store historical business data
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data integration, transformation, and loading
- Monitor data integrity, security, and quality across the data warehouse
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts and data scientists, to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Plan and execute data migration strategies to transition from the current Oracle database to the new solution
- Develop and document best practices, workflows, and system configurations
- Troubleshoot and resolve data warehouse performance and reliability issues
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data warehousing technologies

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline and a minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
Preferred Job Requirements
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience managing data warehouse, data lake, or business warehouse environments
- Proficiency with Oracle database management, including performance tuning and backup/recovery
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse technologies (e.g., Teradata, Snowflake (on-prem version), IBM Db2, SAP BW/4HANA)
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes
- Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and SQL query optimization
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for automation
- Experience supporting data migration projects
- Planning and executing strategies for transitioning from one database platform to another
- Experience with data governance and security best practices
- Familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Certifications in relevant database or data warehouse technologies is a plus
