What You'll Do
Under general supervision maintains good housekeeping of shop areas, docks, and storage areas by sweeping, mopping, cleaning and organizing supplies and materials. Must safely perform work in close proximity to metal cutting equipment such as lathes, mills, presses, shears, saws, and other metal working platforms. Safely handles various production wastes per requirements. Safely operates a variety of mechanical equipment (fork trucks, automatic floor scrubbers, cranes/hoists, vacuum cleaners, pumps, etc.….). Must be able to safely work in close proximity of rotating equipment, contaminated surfaces, and chemical environments and in unair-conditioned areas. Shift work and overtime may be required.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) with 1 year of hands on work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (chemical operations, machine shop, etc); completed a trade school or vocational program; and/or completed a relevant industrial or manufacturing one-year certification program or a relevant associates degree from an accredited college.
- Must be able to read, write and understand written and oral job instructions, procedures, Radiological Work Permits (RWP), Safety Data Sheets, facility/equipment postings and operator aids. Must have demonstrated ability to recognize task related hazards and demonstrate ability to work safely in an industrial setting around hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Must meet the physical requirements for the positions. Subject to plant licensing to operate equipment associated with job duties. Must satisfactorily complete training requirements for the position during the 12 week probationary period.
- This position may require work in a beryllium area and entry into the beryllium program.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy clearance is required. Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709.
Preferred Job Requirements
Experience working and understanding Integrated Safety Management, Conduct of Operations and 7’s principles are desired.
