Summary
As a YA Senior Regional Environmental Consultant, you will lead a team of experts and provide high-quality consulting services relating to environmental impacts associated with catastrophic loss for YA’s customers, which include insurance companies, third-party adjusters, and independent businesses and insureds. You will be responsible for managing a team of experts on small to medium-sized projects or on larger losses, overseeing our clients’ business and operations in defining and controlling costs associated with damaged structures. You are expected to use a large measure of independent judgment, considering and weighing alternatives when appropriate, considering the financial and operational significance of the services being performed. You will deliver detailed written reports outlining your findings and your expert recommendations.
As a Senior Regional Environmental Consultant, you will foster strong client relationships and contribute to business growth. The ideal candidate has an established network of clientele and is experienced with building and maintaining rapport with clients.
Role & Responsibilities
- Leads a team of consultants on environmental inspections / consultation, providing development, training, and mentoring to ensure their expertise in all aspects of project work.
- Conducts quality control reviews of junior environmental consultants' work products before submissions to the client, ensuring all project deliverables are accurate and timely.
- Ensures workload is evenly distributed amongst experts.
- Provides team support and conducts quality control reviews of the team’s work product before submission to the client.
- Analyzes relevant information to prepare damage estimates, potential risks, project scopes, and comprehensive written reports.
- Drives regional growth by recruiting environmental consultants and actively participating in business development efforts.
- Builds and maintains rapport with existing clients while also generating new work for yourself and your team of experts.
- Partners with business development representatives, attending conferences and events to promote the company and the skills of expert staff.
- Schedules and conducts industrial hygiene and building science-related consulting services.
- Recognizes and evaluates potential environmental impacts and health hazards associated with catastrophic loss.
- Conducts building inspections to identify hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, combustion byproducts, and other harmful agents.
- Conducts assessments and testing for Category 3 impacts / conditions.
- Collects bulk, surface, air, soil, and water samples for hazardous constituents.
- Conducts indoor air quality (IAQ) and exposure assessments.
- Reviews and synthesizes relevant information to develop protocols, scopes, studies, and project reports.
- Performs analysis of invoices, budgets, schedules, and reports on behalf of the clients.
- Communicates and corresponds regularly with clients, insurance companies, adjusters, and insureds.
- Maintains job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
