Multi- Brand Passenger Vessel Operations General Manager

Manthey Hospitality is Tampa Bay’s premier operator of passenger vessels, with a fleet of 14 vessels ranging from upscale dining cruises to water taxis. The fleet includes Yacht Starship Dining Cruises, Craft, Pirate Water Taxi and Lost Pearl Pirate Adventure Cruises. Overview

The General Manager of Multi- Brand Passenger Vessel Operations for Manthey Hospitality has direct oversight for Pirate Water Taxi, Lost Pearl, and Tampa River Walk Rentals. This person will direct and oversee all aspects of the operations, ensuring brand standards, sales goals, and excellent guest service is met. The General Manager leads a team of experienced boat captains, deckhands, maintenance, and sales agents. Operations are open daily. The ideal candidate in this role works best in a fast-paced environment, has a captain’s license and has good working knowledge of marine vessels and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Safety first; ensure all safety / security rules and regulations are followed.
Oversee daily routes and specialty cruises.
Maximize daily sales on the route, ensuring guest do not board without a ticket and continually analyze ticket sales and street team performance. Work with street team manager to ensure quality service and maximum sales.
Hire, train, schedule, and lead a team of boat captains, deckhands, sales agents, and maintenance tech for Pirate Water Taxi, Lost Pearl, and Tampa River Walk Rentals.
Manage the booking system including maximizing taxi and cruise availability depending on season and demand.
Analyze trend data and make educated business suggestions and decisions based on this information.
Guest facing position with the ability to expertly handle guest inquires and concerns.
Manages all aspects of the operations as assigned to you, including vessels, crews, maintenance, and dock presence.
Operate a vessel for Pirate Water Taxi or Lost Pearl when necessary.
Ensures vessels remain in compliance with Coast Guard and Local Regulations. Maintain vessel COI’s, crew training and preventive / repair maintenance and record keeping, including up to date logs.
Conduct weekly walk through of vessels to assess maintenance needs.
Audit safety / security procedures and inspections weekly and monthly.
Ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
Positive Leader, maintain a supportive environment, encouraging / mentoring crewmember growth with a Green House program of developing Deckhands to Captains / Engineers / Managers.
Maintain and ensure all company Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
This position is responsible for the financial performance of the cruise and water sports division including Pirate Water Taxi, Lost Pearl, and Tampa River Walk Rentals

Benefits

Salary : $90k- $110k, plus 25% incentive bonus based on annual goals.

The position is full-time and includes a full suite of benefits which are effective from the first of the month following just 30 days of employment.

Requirements : Qualifications

Exhibit leadership and organizational skills in managing the crew and operation.

Integrity and ability to handle information with the utmost confidentiality, in regard to Human Resources matters and working with our customer and vendor clientele.

Ability to format templates and standardize forms easily in Microsoft Word and excel. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Must be good at organizing - in the literal sense as well as virtual data.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quickly.

Highly organized and thrives in a fast paced ever changing daily environment.

Positive and respectful leadership.

Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines effectively and multi-task.

Clear and effective communicator with all team members, peers, and supervisors.

Ability to motivate the crew.

Applicants best suited for this position must be entrepreneurial and run the company as if it were their own.

Be enthusiastic and passionate about the Riverwalk and Downtown Tampa area.

Ideally already engaged in the local Tampa community.

Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.

Weekends are the busiest time for our operations as is the case in most hospitality and passenger vessel operations, and as such the GM should expect to work 50% of the weekends.

Experience / Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Four years’ experience in hospitality / operational management and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

100-Ton Captains License is preferred but, is not a requirement.

1 year in Passenger Vessel Industry is preferred, but is not a requirement.

Theme park management a plus but not required.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
