You will be collaborating with different teams to brainstorm ideas, define architectures, design software and build services, components and User Experiences.We are seeking talented engineers with the following skills :

Responsibilities

You would be part of defining the features and workings of the Video Platform that can support the next generation of products at Yahoo, using the latest technologies, frameworks and open source toolsHelp to scope, plan, and implement best-in-class software practices, procedures, and deliveryContribute to implementation guidelines and execution strategy for your team's goalsCollaborate with your peers, product managers, and engineering leaders on new features and enhancementsSupport production deployments and debug issues that may come up from time to time.

Qualifications

5 years Software development experience in JavaScript / TypeScript and related technologies / frameworksB.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)Strong fundamentals : algorithms, data structures, databases and networkingExperience designing, implementing and maintaining web servicesExperience with JavaScript tooling like Webpack, ESlint, and optimising performance of web applicationsHave a solid understanding of OO design principles, concurrent programming, performance tuning and observabilityPredisposition towards testing, instrumentation, and documentation.Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Strong understanding of CI / CD pipelines, build automation, and version controlExperience with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworksExperience in JS unit and functional testing and related tools like Vitest, Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, TestCafe, Playwright, etcExperience with testing services like SauceLabs, BrowserStack, Appium, and LambdaTestGood understanding of VAST, VPAID and other ad delivery technologiesGood command of web standards, HTML5, CSS, DOM scripting, cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation strategiesGood understanding of User Experience needs related to Video

Nice to have

Experience with different Video formats (HLS, MP4, etc)Familiarity with Live Video Event OperationsFamiliar with different Video Player features (e.g. Brightcove)

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
