Director, Communications

Yahoo is seeking an experienced Director of Communications to oversee Yahoo Finance, the #1 news and finance destination for consumers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a communications strategy that reinforces Yahoo Finance's position as the leading provider of financial news, data and insights. This individual must have a deep understanding of the financial and consumer tech industry, strong media relationships and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across Yahoo. A strong background in fintech with experience launching products, developing and executing strategies and creative storytelling is a must.This role reports into the VP of Communications.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for Yahoo Finance, in line with our overall business objectives

• Lead the launch of new products and services, working closely with the GM of Finance and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution and effective communication

• Cultivate strong relationships with key financial media outlets, reporters, and influencers to drive positive stories and raise brand awareness

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, product and editorial teams to develop cohesive messaging and storytelling

• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities, adjusting communications strategies as needed to maintain competitive advantage

Requirements:

• Strong consumer and fintech experience launching products and driving awareness

• Exceptional writing skills and experience creating a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, speeches, talking points, and social media content

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal partners and external stakeholders

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to prioritize competing demands effectively
