Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

A Little About Us:

We are building and enhancing Yahoo's Search and Media experiences targeting those who play video games as well as casual games. Our goal is to offer users the best content and answers in the gaming space, as well as the opportunity to play multiplayer games inside the Yahoo experience. We are a small team focused on hiring those who want to focus on building new products and experiences from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical lead for developing and maintaining user experiences, APIs to collect and provide information to users
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering leaders to identify and build the right systems to meet our needs
• Use industry best practices to optimize site reliability, facilitate easy deployment of new code revisions and write documentation
• Go above and beyond to assist in defining product and business goals

A Lot About You:

• Experience in Java, Node.js, Python, C or another modern back-end programing language
• Familiar with CSS, HTML, Javascript coding, as well as standard toolchains such as jQuery and major CSS toolkits like Bootstrap
• You've built experiences using modern web-based front ends, such as React or Vue.js
• Knowledge of SQL and key-value data stores such as Redis
• Experience creating full-stack systems from the ground up, not just editing code written by others. A public GitHub repository is very helpful.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or ability to demonstrate programming fundamentals equivalent to this level of education
• 5 years industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and interest in the casual gaming or video games space
• Worked with one of the major public-cloud systems (AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or Kubernetes knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of modern CI/CD systems and methodologies
• Experience with RESTful, GraphQL, or equivalent APIs to fetch and display data to users
