We are hiring people for our Eastern & Western Suffolk County - Dix Hills, Bay Shore, Melville and Holbrook locations. The ideal candidate should possess a wide range of skills and are eager to promote YAI's mission of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, love, work, and learn in their communities.
About the Position:
The Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS) position blends together the Direct Support Professional (DSP) role and the clinical leadership role. ABIS works directly with people in their home, work, and daily life in varying capacities. Clinical leadership under the supervision of the BIS includes educating team members on habilitative and Behavior Support Plans, assisting with clinical assessments, ensuring data collection and providing direct feedback and education to all team members.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· BA/BS Degree in Psychology or Human Services strongly preferred or
· Enrolled in 4-year degree in Psychology or Human Services field
· Experience working within the field of ID/DD preferred
· Valid Driver’s License
Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday 2:30pm - 10:30pm
