What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Lead position at YAI - Seeing Beyond Disability?
The START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) model serves people diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This comprehensive model of service supports and optimizes independence, treatment, and community living for individuals with I/DD and behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative supervision to START Coordinators and daily clinical triage support.
- Maintain linkages and relationships with community partners.
- Ensure the coordination of support meetings and crisis plans for individuals served through START.
- Share on-call responsibilities to ensure 24/7 response to crisis situations within one hour of call telephonically and within 24 hours of call face-to-face.
- Participate in recurring meetings with START leadership, clinical team, and In
HomeTherapeutic Coaching.
- Development of cross-systems crisis plans, intake/assessments, intervention and outcomes, and any other applicable documentation of services provided.
- Maintain a small, active caseload (about 5 cases) until the START Coordinator
Certification is achieved.
- Following certification, the team leader's caseload should be fluid and temporary to provide the opportunity to support START Coordinators when needed.
Requirements:
- MA in Mental Health, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or other Human
Service field
- At least 2 years of experience working with the I/DD population
- Experience working with individuals with I/DD and mental health and/or challenging behavior needs preferred
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred
- Prior experience as a START Coordinator preferred or the ability to become certified within 12 months
- Bilingual Spanish/Vietnamese is a plus
- Driver’s license required
