Job Description
The Assistant Director of Training – Administration responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Director of Training to identify and develop strategies and procedures that contribute to building the skills and knowledge of staff across all departments within the agency.
- Supporting the Director of Training in providing leadership to the training team in her absence.
- Directly supervising Level 1 trainers; evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and guidance as needed. Conducting training needs assessments to identify staff training and development needs.
- Organizing and leading training programs for new hires.
- Working with agency programs and the training team to develop objectives to meet identified training needs and develop/review curriculum.
- Working with the Director of Training and agency leadership to develop strategies for the coordination and deployment of agency wide training initiatives.
- Overseeing a region and working directly with leadership within that region to implement mandated trainings and analyze trends.
- In collaboration with the Training Director, plan and conduct monthly committee meetings; work with committee members to share best practices around professional development.
- Ensure alignment with the needs of the agency and I/DD field for both internal training programs and those provided by program funding sources.
- Providing trainings for external organizations through YAI Knowledge.
- Oversee designated contracts within the department.
- Monitor and regularly assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and evaluations after training, to continuously improve learning effectiveness.
- Facilitate an annual Leadership Development program to promote growth within the organization and a long-term plan for continue agency success.
- Research new approaches and procedures in the field of I/DD to ensure trainings are up to date and kept fresh and current.
- Act as a training department representative to other departments, stakeholders and the public.
- Working with people with developmental disabilities

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $33.66 per hour
