Behavioral HealthDepartment of Tribal HealthHourly Wage: $36.11-$41.86/Regular/Full-TimeThis position will have responsibility for working with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. May help individuals deal with issues associated with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; self-esteem; suicidal ideations; victims of crime; anger management; Domestic Violence Perpetrator treatment (limited); and aging.Examples of Work Performed:Assist in development of the intake assessment, diagnosis, ongoing brief, and community support services. Including case management, to identify children, families, and adults in a culturally competent manner within the most appropriate environment. Must maintain a minimum of 50% work hours in billable services hours.Provide services, assessments, individual, family and group therapy for all required populations such as children, adolescents, adults, elderly, GBTLA, and veterans in a variety of settings including office, IHS clinic, local Hospitals, Tribal Court, Tribal Corrections, homes and some off reservation settings.Develops and implements treatment plans which focus on client strengths, needs, and goals within the briefest time frame for successful achievement.Modify treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.Establish and maintain working relationships with other tribal programs as well as relevant non-tribal programs that could be a potential resource for our families.Participate in supervision, multi-disciplinary team staffing, trainings, and psychiatric consultations as required.Provide services and maintain records to meet level of care standards and agency policies.Maintain monthly statistics, complete evaluation criteria as required by contracts, and participate in the reports as needed at the end of the fiscal year.Coordinate with other healthcare providers, agencies, and community resources in order to create a thorough treatment plan.Write reports to court, school, or other community agencies as necessary.Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.May be assigned new projects and tasks not included on the description, or to assist other Behavioral Health staff as requested by supervisor ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Must attend at least 18 CEU's every year to maintain licensure.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and professional standards of providing clinical behavioral/mental health services to tribal communities.Knowledge of completing documentation is not limited to treatment plans, assessments, and service authorizations.Knowledge skills and ability of documenting in patient medical files, HIPAA laws, medical terminology and EHR standards.Knowledge of the Yakama Nation Personnel Policies.Knowledge and proficiency in computer use.Knowledge of assorted Treatment/Therapy modules and to be flexible to use different therapy modalities and modules with patients.Ability to complete billing documentation in a timely manner.Ability to make professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendations for treatment planning and implementation.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, supervisors/managers, and the public.Ability to prepare accurate, comprehensive, and detailed reports and correspondence.Ability to meet the public and address problems, issues, and complaints tactfully, courteously, andeffectively.Must maintain strict confidentiality.Minimum Requirements:Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, and/or Related Counseling field; or Employee may be considered in the process of obtaining credential while employed. Candidates may also be considered if they are actively working on completion of a Master's degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, and/or Related Counseling field that leads to DOH licensure.One year of related clinical experience working with children, families, and other individual's psychosis and/or other behavioral health issues.Must have associate/affiliate status through Washington State Department of Health. Full licensure must be acquired within the time frame established by the Department of Health and Director.(Licenses/Registration) One of the following licenses is acceptable for this position (must apply for within one week of hire if license is not current): Licensed Social Worker Associate Advanced (LSWAA). Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC). Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA). Agency Affiliated Counselor. Certified Counselor (CL) (CHS Only)Must pass a pre-employment background check.Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.Preferred Requirements:Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
