Position: Attorney I and Attorney II
Department: Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
Annual Pay Range:
- Attorney I: $100,000 - $108,243 (ATT I Step 1-5)
- Attorney II: $111,491 - $125,556 (ATT II Step 1-7)
Annual Hiring Range:
- Attorney I: $100,000 - $106,121 (ATT I Step 1-4 DOQ)
- Attorney II: $111,491 - $118,315 (ATT II Step 1-4 DOQ)
Temporary Hiring Incentive: $15,000 ($7,500 upon acceptance and $7,500 after six months of employment). Available for hires between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.

The Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking Attorneys at Attorney I and II levels to join our team. This is an opportunity to work in a professional, collegial, and fast-paced environment with assignments in the Juvenile, District Court, Felony, or Special Assault divisions as determined by the Prosecutor.
Who Should Apply?
We encourage applications from recent graduates awaiting results of the Washington State Bar Exam, as well as experienced attorneys with a passion for public service.
Qualifications:
- Attorney I: Admission to the Washington State Bar or pending results of the most recent Bar Exam.
- Attorney II: Admission to the Washington State Bar and a minimum of four (4) years of law practice experience.
Required:
- Employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation, which may include fingerprinting.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of insurance at the time of employment.
