Salary:
$920 per Instructional Unit
Up to 10 IU's/Quarter
- Impart excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of Mathematics.
- Adapt to a variety of teaching situations, including learning communities and other interdisciplinary approaches.
- Place primary emphasis on student learning in the design, delivery and evaluation of courses.
- Teach to a variety of learning styles as demonstrated in the development of course materials and assessments of student learning.
- Skilled in outcomes-based assessment of student learning and program effectiveness.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effectively working and interacting with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural setting.
- Demonstrated ability for written and oral communication in the classroom and with other professionals.
- Strong commitment to the mission and values of community college education.
- Earned Master's degree in Mathematics or Education with an emphasis in Mathematics or related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated successful experience teaching mathematics
- Background in teaching all levels of mathematics, from developmental to transfer level.
- Understanding of and commitment to the community college philosophy and life-long learning.
- Successful community college and/or other teaching experience.
- Experience or interest in using a variety of student-centered instructional and assessment techniques.
- Experience or interest in curriculum development and assessment and outcomes-based learning.
- Experience or interest in teaching populations diverse in age, culture, and ethnicity.
