GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Compost Manager/Environmental Technician Trainee will lead our composting efforts. You will be trained to oversee two grants, USDA and EPA Swifter Grant, will be trained to manage operations, ensure eco-friendly practices, collaborate with stakeholders, and educate the community on composting benefits. Additionally, will co-lead our Environmental Program, focusing on waste reduction and local food security through community compost programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
*Work environment is diverse, encompassing both indoor and outdoor settings. While office duties involve typical desk work, computer tasks, and participation in meetings, a significant portion of the role entails fieldwork. This fieldwork exposes the employee to a range of weather conditions, from heat to cold, along with rain and wind elements.
*Fieldwork also entails physical labor, necessitating the lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of equipment and materials, some of which may weigh up to 50 pounds. Additionally, the employee must be prepared to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods during fieldwork and will give Immediate notification of on the job injuries.
*Manual dexterity and keen hand-eye coordination are indispensable for tasks like operating equipment and conducting compost monitoring and sampling. Moreover, the role demands sufficient vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to execute duties safely and effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school Diploma, Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in a related field.
• Strong understanding of best practices related to composting.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, including staff, community members, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to work independently and a Strong attention to detail, and good record-keeping,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications and experienced in entering and maintaining data,
• A willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally as needed.
