Responsibilities
- Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned.
- Identifies self to patient/family and explains to patient/family the roles of each member of the care delivery team.
- Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC.
- Performs environmental responsibilities as assigned.
- Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- Performs other related organizational duties as assigned.
- Maintains patient autonomy, confidentiality and dignity.
- May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program is preferred. Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) is also preferred.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience is preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
LICENSURE
Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent organizational, communication, customer service and teamwork skills are required. Ability to multi-task is essential. EMR experience is preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications is required. CPR certification is preferred. Bilingual is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must complete work in a timely fashion.
