Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist is responsible for performing advanced radiologic procedures and ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging while providing compassionate patient care. This role involves patient education, technical expertise in CT scanning, and maintaining effective communication within the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Education: Explanation of Exam, Completion of Intravenous Contrast Worksheet, Take Allergy History.
- Room Preparation, Clean Linen, Loading and Arming of Power Injector.
- Maintain IV Start Proficiency per Radiology Nurse Guidelines.
- Provide Physical Assistance to Patients on and off Scanner Table.
- Facilitate Patient Flow, including ability to prioritize and add-on patients as needed.
- Technical Expertise for Acquiring Highest Quality Diagnostic Scans.
- Consistently Produces Diagnostic Quality Radiographs.
- Completes all paperwork and patient documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Accurately film patient exams.
- Maintaining Good Communication amongst Team Members and other Departments.
- Safely operates all equipment according to manufacturer's specification.
Education: High school graduate or G.E.D., ARRT approved program in radiologic technology.
Experience: One (1) to two (2) years experience in CT department preferred.
Licenses: Current Connecticut State license in Radiographer, BLS required.
Certifications: Arrt Registered, Computed Tomography (CT) certified.
