Radiologic Technologist at Yale New Haven Health
As a Radiologic Technologist, you play a crucial role in providing quality medical care by assisting invasive cardiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures. Your responsibilities include educating patients before procedures, preparing the necessary equipment, and ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance to invasive cardiologists in the performance of diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional cardiac angiographic procedures in the safest and most efficient manner possible with the maintenance of optimal patient care.
- Ensures proper preparation of patient and equipment necessary to perform the designated procedure or procedures.
- Maintains neatness and cleanliness within the department by daily cleaning of equipment and maintenance of assigned equipment according to the Cath Lab Equipment List.
- Demonstrates knowledge of developmental stages from adolescence to old age and applies development theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the adult patient.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of C-arm, Life-Pak Defibrillator/monitor, and ECG/pressure recorder analyzer with computer interface.
- Identifies indications for EPS, Pacemaker, ICD, Bi vent, and Ablation procedures.
- Maintains educational guidelines based on department credentialing matrix and maintains skills and knowledge base to assure competency.
