Responsible for ensuring internal and external Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations are optimized, providing service and patient care excellence. Clinical oversight for the regions of Bridgeport and Milford and Greenwich EMS Medical Controls. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: EMS Operations, QA/QI activities for EMS and Emergency Services, EMS Continuing Education Programs including the EMS school, AHA Training Center oversight and operations, Decontamination team oversight, Emergency Management liaison, and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities
- 1. Regional EMS Medical Control
- 1.1 Ensures that the Emergency Medical Services program meets national quality standards.. Develops long-range service expansion plans, conferring with hospital leadership and local governments. Oversee the AHA Training Center ensuring proper administration and policy adherence to AHA standards.
- 2. EMS Education
- 2.1 Supports oversight of Emergency Medical Services Paramedic Training Academy educational offerings, and participates in program planning and implementation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in related health sciences field or equivalent required. Masters degree in related technical or clinical field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
10 Years EMS Experience as a Paramedic, 5 years of EMS leadership experience, 5 years teaching Paramedic level EMS program. Critical Care paramedic experience required.
LICENSURE
National Registry Paramedic, CT Paramedic License, AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS Instructor certifications, CT Emergency Medical Services Instructor required. Advanced Hazardous Material Training, Critical Care Paramedic preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice, Connecticut EMS regulations and statues, EMS education and training methods, EMS vehicles and medical equipment, team building, time management, supervision, communication skills, and problem solving. Effectively command personnel and coordinate emergency incidents. Though knowledge of The National Incident Management System. Understand the roles and responsibilities for the effective operations of an Emergency Operations Center. Hazardous material experience
