As a Geriatric Medical Assistant, you will assist healthcare providers in delivering quality patient care while performing administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and medical record management.

Responsibilities:
- Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned.
- Identifies self to patient/family and explains to patient/family the roles of each member of the care delivery team.
- Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC.
- Performs environmental responsibilities as assigned.
- Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- Performs other related organizational duties as assigned.
- Maintains patient autonomy, confidentiality and dignity.
- May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
- LICENSURE: Medical Assisting Certification preferred.
- SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent, organizational, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required.
- Ability to multi-task is essential.
- EMR experience preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
