The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in producing high-quality radiographic images for interpretation by radiologists. This position involves operating complex imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and service excellence. The technologist will also mentor junior staff, participate in workflow activities, and assist with scheduling and patient communications.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated above-average technical skills and excellent communication skills. They should be proficient in advanced Radiography CR/Digital imaging techniques, have a good understanding of computer/PACS applications, and possess good organizational and communication/customer service skills.
This role requires the ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision. The technologist will also be responsible for Radiography section operations in the absence of the Assistant Chief Tech.

Responsibilities
- FOLLOW ROUTINE PROTOCOLS AND REFER TO THE SOURCE DOCUMENT TO ENSURE THE CORRECT EXAM IS PERFORMED.
- ASSIST SCHEDULERS, PHYSICIANS, NURSING, AND OTHER APPROPRIATE STAFF WITH SCHEDULING, OBTAINING REQUISITIONS OR PRE-AUTHORIZATION, PATIENT PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS, AND OTHER EXAM-RELATED COMMUNICATIONS.
- PERFORM QUALITY AND COMPASSIONATE PATIENT CARE IN ORDER TO ENSURE COOPERATION, SAFETY, AND SATISFACTION.
Requirements
- Demonstrated above-average technical skills and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in advanced Radiography CR/Digital imaging techniques.
- Good understanding of computer/PACS applications.
- Good organizational and communication/customer service skills.
- RT(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Connecticut State License, and CPR certification preferred.
