A Mammography Technologist plays a critical role in performing diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in the detection of breast diseases. This involves operating complex radiographic equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standard.
- Perform various clerical duties including verification of information and exams performed, using CR, DR, and PACs immediately after completing exams.
- Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program in Radiology Technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technology or registry eligible, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience, will consider new grads.
- Must possess RI license and ARRT certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
