Responsibilities
- Performs pre analytic functions according to established protocols and procedures under supervision of assigned Medical Lab Scientist
- Operates and performs maintenance on laboratory instrumentation per established policies and procedures under supervision of assigned Medical Lab Scientist
- Monitors inventory of supplies and orders supplies as necessary. Keeps adequate inventory.
- Complies with policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements
- Coordinates and cooperates with co-workers to promote a productive working environment
- Demonstrates effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking pertinent questions
Qualifications
Education: Applicants must be seeking a degree in Clinical Lab Science/Medical Lab Science or other four-year baccalaureate STEM degree in a biomedical science related field. For example, microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, or biology. Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Prior to the beginning of the program, selected applicants will need to have completed 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at minimum, meets the following conditions.
8 semester hours of science courses that include one of the following:
3 hours of mathematics
8 hours of chemistry or 4 hours of biology
Experience: 0-1 year experience in a Clinical Laboratory, new graduates welcome to apply
