Job Description:
The CMA provides essential support to healthcare providers by assisting with patient care, managing appointments, and performing clerical tasks. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, requiring effective communication and organizational skills to maintain confidentiality and enhance service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies self to patient/family and explains to patient/family the roles of each member of the care delivery team
- Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned
- Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC
- Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol
- May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program or certification/registration in lieu of graduation
- Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office
- EMR experience preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required
- Bilingual preferred but not required
