As an MRI technologist, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient care and safety. Responsibilities:- Technical Expertise
- Update all patients’ information in the IS/RIS system.
- Patient Care
- Complete all necessary information for interpretation of patient forms.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Report all malfunctions to the manager or bio-med team.
- Anatomical Knowledge
- Use extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to properly position patients for maximum diagnostic yield.
- Patient Communication
- Interview patients to ascertain pertinent history associated with requested exams.
- Operational Responsibilities
- Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.L.A.R.A. standard.
- Clerical Duties
- Verify information, including reading and verifying physician-written orders, and exams performed using CR, DR, and PACS immediately after completing exams.
- Safety Training
- Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology. CERTIFICATION: Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technology or registry eligible, obtainable within 3 months of hire. EXPERIENCE: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience. Will consider new graduates. LICENSURE: Must possess an RI license and ARRT certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
