About the Role
The RN practices professional nursing within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and our Professional Practice Model.
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family
- Communicates effectively with the patient, family, and healthcare team members
- Respects the patient's values, preferences, expressed needs, and knowledge of the healthcare situation

We follow the nursing process components of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide competent care.

- Assessment: Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or situation
- Diagnosis: Analyzes assessment data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues
- Outcomes Identification: Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation
- Planning: Develops and modifies a plan of care that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
- Implementation: Implements the identified plan
- Coordination of Care: Coordinates care delivery and transitions in care

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- 1 year acute care or ambulatory RN experience required
- 2 years oncology and/or ambulatory RN experience preferred
