The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting physicians and enhancing patient care by managing appointments, coordinating patient flow, and performing clerical tasks.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure a positive patient experience and efficient operations within the practice.
With a focus on integrity and patient-centered care, the coordinator assists in various medical administrative duties while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists physicians/providers with patient care, rooming patients, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
- Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned.
- Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC.
- Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program.
- Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
- Medical Assisting Certification preferred.
- EMR experience preferred and working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
Demonstrates professional, appropriate, effective and tactful written, verbal and nonverbal communication with patients, families, medical staff, colleagues, vendors, and other departments throughout the continuum of care to promote continuity of care and services and enhance clinical image.
