Overview:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN provides comprehensive patient assessments, delivers education to patients and families, and assists with various medical procedures while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
This role involves direct patient care and oversight of non-RN personnel, promoting teamwork and effective communication within the healthcare team. The position requires a valid RN license and strong clinical skills, particularly in the ambulatory care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing duties, including but not limited to: physical, pain, and psychosocial assessment, documentation, vital signs, bladder scan, Uroflow, catheter insertion and removal, medication administration, and use of POCT (Point of Care Testing).
- Demonstrate ability and knowledge to handle and transfer clean and dirty instruments/equipment.
Requirements:
- Valid State of Rhode Island Registered Nurse License.
- BLS required within one month.
- Hospital and unit-based orientation provided.
