Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities as a Medical Assistant will include:
- Assisting physicians and healthcare providers with patient care, rooming patients, and performing various administrative tasks.
- Carrying out administrative duties such as sending/receiving patient medical records, abstracting new patient records into EPIC, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized environment by setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- Supporting other related organizational duties as assigned, including providing information to patients about practice services, conveying a positive image of the practice, and assisting with patient procedures as needed.
Requirements
To be successful as a Medical Assistant, you should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program.
- Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) is preferred, but certification may be accepted in lieu of graduation from an accredited MA school.
- A minimum of 1 year of private practice medical assistant experience is preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
