Role Overview:
This position is part of Yale New Haven Health's Diagnostic Radiology team and requires a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual to perform a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex diagnostic imaging equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Follows routine protocols and refers to the source document to ensure the correct exam is performed, demonstrating accuracy on safety screening and promoting our pledge for service excellence.
- Assists schedulers, physicians, nursing, and other appropriate staff with scheduling, obtaining requisitions or pre-authorization, patient preparation instructions, and other exam-related communications, ensuring efficient workflow and effective communication.
- Thoroughly explains various procedures to the patient and offers emotional support to ensure quality and compassionate patient care, maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.
- Selects the correct patient from the worklist consistently, performing various record keeping and customer service functions to ensure exam charges are properly billed and communicates feedback.
