- Operates advanced radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Ensures patient safety and high-quality images.
- Gathers clinical data and maintains accurate information in the imaging system.
- Patient Interaction:
- Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts.
- Maintains accurate information in the imaging system.
- Uses practical knowledge of anatomy for proper positioning to obtain maximum diagnostic information.
- Speaks with patient to ascertain pertinent history associated with requested exam.
- Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department.
- Selects technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standard.
- Performs various clerical duties including verification of information and exams performed.
- Attends all required safety training programs and describes his/her responsibilities related to general safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology or registry eligible, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Requires a minimum of one year of experience.
- Must possess RI license and ARRT certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
