As a Radiology Technologist, I perform interpretive and technical functions to ensure accurate radiologic diagnoses, utilizing my knowledge of anatomy and safe positioning techniques. My responsibilities include operating complex radiographic equipment, updating patient information in the IS/RIS system, and conducting clerical duties related to verification of exams. I am dedicated to adhering to safety standards and supporting patient-centered care within the healthcare environment.

Under the direction of the department manager, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. EEO/AA/Disability/VeteranResponsibilities
- 1. IS/RIS System
- 1.1 Updates all patients' information.
- 2. Forms (History, Preg & Req)
- 2.1 Completes all information needed for interpretation.
- 3. Equipment
- 3.1 Reports all malfunctions to manager or Bio-Med.
- 4. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
- 4.1 Uses practical knowledge of anatomy for proper positioning to obtain maximum diagnostic information, as evidenced by image taken.
- 5. Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts to alert any party to possible contradictions for procedure.
- 5.1 Speaks with patient to ascertain pertinent history associated with requested exam.
- 6. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonable achievable) standard
- 6.1 Understands and is able to utilize all x-ray rooms in main department. 6 1. Understands and is able to utilize operating room and x-ray equipment
- 7. Performs various clerical duties including, but not limited to
- 7.1 Verification of information (to include reading and verifying physican written order) and exams performed, using CR, DR, and PACs immediately after completing exams.
- 8. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his /her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- 8.1 All required safety education programs have been attended.
EDUCATION Must be a graduate of an approved two-year program. Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiology Technology. Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technology or registry eligible, must obtain within 3 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience. Will consider new grads.
LICENSURE Must possess RI license. ARRT certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
