Treasury Risk and Capital Manager
Yamaha Motor Finance Corp. (YMFC), the captive finance arm of Yamaha Motor Co., is seeking a Treasury Risk and Capital Manager to oversee financial risk, liquidity risk, capital planning, and treasury governance. The successful candidate will enhance treasury risk management to effectively mitigate various market risks impacting the business in pricing, profitability, and cash flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Risk Management:
- Develop and enhance existing frameworks, models, reporting, and processes regarding Asset Liability Measurement, Liquidity Risk Management, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Interest Rate Risk Management, and Market Risk Management.
- Manage interest rate risk by measuring exposure and recommending funding strategies, balance sheet positioning, and hedging strategies.
- Partner with finance and business units on cost of funds pricing model governance / FTP methodologies.
- Oversee global liquidity risk management activities, including forecasting, analytics, reporting, stress testing, and contingency liquidity planning to support long-term corporate objectives.
- Capital Planning and Balance Sheet Optimization:
- Strategize, recommend, and implement optimal capital structure, capital allocation strategies, intercompany lending arrangements, and related financing options informed by robust forecasting models and capital consumption analytics.
- Drive long-term funding plan development based on capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow targets.
- Provide analytical leadership to elevate cost of funds management and maturing balance sheet management.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A to maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting and scenario analyses.
- Forecast net working capital and balance sheet items.
- Governance, Compliance, and Reporting:
- Ensure governance/controls in place for successful execution of financial reporting for Treasury activities, including derivatives and other financial transactions, including compliance with J-SOX.
- Prepare accounting reconciliations and ensure compliance with applicable derivative regulatory requirements.
- Assist with lender reporting and relationship management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline required.
- 8-12 years of relevant treasury, financial risk management, and finance experience, including capital structure and balance sheet management at a multinational company.
- Direct knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM) strategies and processes.
- Strong financial modeling and presentation skills and experience.
- Capital markets and asset securitization exposure required.
- Knowledge of worldwide financial and capital markets, and tax, legal, and accounting issues pertaining to derivatives and other capital markets tools preferred.
- Must have experience working cross-functionally and with international teams.
- Thought leadership and influencing skills to inform and advise on the direction of the strategic areas of Treasury balance sheet management.
