POSITION TITLE: Development Assistant
RESPONSIBLE TO: Donor Relations and Marketing Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Development Assistant is a regular, full-time 40 hours per week, non-exempt position that is responsible for coding and processing donations, entering gifts, thanking donors, office and administrative support, employee recognition coordination, supporting events, coordinating volunteers, and securing in-kind support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Create a positive team atmosphere providing quality service to donors, clients, staff, and volunteers through active listening, positive problem solving, and timely responses.
Development Responsibilities:
- Code and enter gifts and generate appropriate thank you notes in a timely manner.
- Communicate and coordinate with volunteers and outside groups for community events and outreach.
- Digitize donor correspondence, checks, and grant documents.
- Maintain donor records including updating addresses, names, and gift records.
- Post-event clean-up, deliveries, and reorganization of event materials.
- Input client feedback into survey monkey.
- Support fundraising and staff events as needed.
- Secure translations of program and administrative materials into Spanish.
- Assist the Donor Relations & Marketing Manager, Development and Marketing Coordinator, and Development Director in resource development.
- Provide administrative support for the Development Team, Finance Team, Deputy Director, HR Director, and Office Director.
Support Admin and office functions including but not limited to:
- Process daily office mail, provide postage reports as needed, and daily mail pick-up/drop-off.
- Order office supplies, name plates, and name badges.
- Restock office supplies, check office voicemail, and provide printer and copier reports as needed.
- Schedule conference room usage, and assist with end of day office closing tasks,
- Coordinate volunteer appreciation certificates and gifts; and assist with employee recognition
- Drive to various locations in Yamhill County to support administrative office functions, fundraising efforts and donor support.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· HS diploma with related office and data entry experience
· Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
· Knowledge of YCAP and low-income issues
· Knowledge of computers, office equipment, and word processing
· Experience working with a database and preferably donor software such as DonorPerfect
· Skill in verbal and written communications, problem solving, and team work
· Highly organized and able to work independently on multiple projects in a timely fashion
· Ability to work with diverse people, organizations and situations
· Ability to meet insurance requirements and pass driving, drug, and background screens
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, kneel, walk, go up and down stairs and bend for a period of time. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
