SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of airport passenger support and customer service duties at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport (YVRA); provides arriving and departing passengers with clear airport information and transportation directions; responds to and resolves parking lot issues; monitors the baggage belt area for security, safety, and operational issues; performs perimeter checks of secure airport areas; and performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets the public, customers, and other county employees in person and over the phone; provides information about airport activities, transportation, parking, and other services; routes messages to airport concessionaire or airline staff.
- Responds to parking lot issues, including general questions, lost tickets, and outages; receives payments.
- Assists security staff by performing routine perimeter checks of secure areas and reporting any possible security issues.
- Monitors the baggage belt area for security, safety, and operational issues; contacts airport department or airlines staff as needed.
- Provides wheelchair service to disabled passengers as requested.
- Collects, logs, and returns lost and found items; oversees the return of baggage carts.
- Monitors and directs passenger lines for safety and passenger flow.
- Works throughout the terminal, assisting passengers with other miscellaneous needs.
- May assist arriving and departing passengers with transporting their baggage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Six months of customer service experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
- Valid Colorado Driver License may be required to operate a County vehicle.

Must be able to successfully complete a Federal Security Background Check for TSA SIDA badging requirements.
